About

Beneath a wide sky, where the horizon spoke first.

In the Mountain West, space is learned through the body, weather moving across a ridge, the give of terrain underfoot, the uneasy line where a road meets a forest. That is where I first understood architecture: as something that sits between ground and sky, and has to earn its place there.

Years of dance taught me that a room is measured in reach and pause. Film photography taught me to wait. thirty-six frames, no preview, just attention. Travel through places of different hues, waters and climates keeps reminding me that light is a material too.

I trained at the University of Texas at Austin (B.Arch, Distinguished Scholar in Design Excellence, minor in French), then spent six years designing retail environments for Herman Miller, Design Within Reach and the MillerKnoll family, from a first pop-up to a 70,000 sq ft flagship. I now design at Studio DIAA.
